Ms Kelly’s 5th Class Ancient Greece

5th class recently learned about Ancient Greece in history. The children followed instructions on Art for Kids Hub to draw the minatour, created Greek vases, worked in groups to create a poster on a Greek god and completed individual projects. The children put a huge amount of work into their individual projects and presented them to the class. I am so incredibly proud of the children and their projects. They really blew me away with the information they included and their creativity. Well done to all! Ms. Kelly

Spar FAI Primary School 5’s (Girls) 2020

The girls from 5th and 6th classes participated in the SPAR FAI soccer competition on Wednesday 11th March in Knockgriffin. The girls played very well and came in 2nd place. Thank you to Fergal Cunningham and Margaret Daly who have come to the school to teach soccer skills to the children. Huge thanks to parents who brought girls to the soccer and cheered them on. Well done girls!!

Online Educational Websites for School Closure

Teachers have sent suggestions of work children can do while school is shut. Please email principal@cloynens.com or secretary@cloynens.com

if you did not receive message on Aladdin.

Here are some links to educational websites parents might find helpful while schools are closed.

It is important to engage in other general activities such as reading daily, board games, mental and social maths- weight, time, capacity, length, money, baking, gardening, and lego.

The closure is unprecedented and the school appreciates your understanding and patience.

Stay safe and healthy.

First Penance

Tuesday night March 3rd, 2020 was a very special night for the boys and girls in 2nd Class as they made their First Penance in St. Colman’s Church, Cloyne. The ceremony was celebrated by Fr. Pat and Fr. Dorgan. The children said their prayers with great confidence and they sang their songs beautifully. They displayed their lovely artwork on the altar. We listened to the story and song “Zacchaeus” from the ‘Grow in Love’ Religion Programme and this modern song was greatly enjoyed by all.  Many thanks to their teachers Ms. M Kearney and Ms. Wall and their parents for all their hard work! Congratulations boys and girls, keep up the good work!!

Thank you to the 3rd Class parents for organising the party after the ceremony.

Spar FAI Primary School 5’s (Boys) 2020

The boys from 5th and 6th class took part in SPAR FAI soccer blitz in Knockgriffin on Tuesday 3rd of March. There were two teams and they each played several matches throughout the day. The boys gave it their all and most importantly, they had a blast playing soccer for the day! Many thanks to Fergal Cunningham and Margaret Daly who have spent time teaching soccer skills to the 5th and 6th class. Also, thanks to the parents who drove the boys in and cheered them on from the sideline. It was a wonderful day for all and we look forward to the girls participating next week.
