Christmas Shoe Box Appeal 2018<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Many vulnerable children all over the world do not receive Christmas gifts.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>The shoebox appeal gives gifts to these children<\/span><\/span>. For many of these children it is the first gift they will ever receive. St. Colman\u2019s N.S. had taken part in this appeal over the past few years. All you have to do is f<\/span><\/span>ill a shoebox and<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>return to school. T<\/span><\/span>hese<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>shoeb<\/span><\/span>oxes will then be sent all over the world.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

How to fill:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Grab a Shoe box<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>Wrap the box and lid separately with Christmas paper<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
2.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Label box<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>for either a girl or boy<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>and<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>for what age group 2 \u2013 4 years, 4 \u2013 9 years or 10 \u2013 14 years \u2013<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>leaflets<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>will be sent home next week.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
3.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Fill the box<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u2013<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>Be creative:<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>4 W\u2019s \u2013<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>WRITE<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u2013 pencils, crayons, colouring books, copies<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>WASH<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u2013<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>toothbrush,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>toothpaste, soap (wrapped), facecloth, comb<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>WEAR<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>hat, scarf gloves, socks<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>WOW<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>yo-yo, skipping rope, doll, ball, teddy, small musical instrument, sweets (in date until 03\/2019)<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

What not to include:<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>Liquids (shampoo, bubbles, drinks), chocolate, sharp objects, scary things war related, masks), breakables, medicines, large clothing items<\/span><\/span>, battery operated toys<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

4.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Close the box<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>Include \u20ac4 in your leaflet envelope either on top of the gifts or<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>taped to the inside of the lid \u2013 this helps with<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>shipment and for all this to happen. Put an<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>elastic band<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>around the lid<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u2013 please don\u2019t sea<\/span><\/span>l with tape as<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>contents<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>need to be checked<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>to comply with regulations.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
5.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Drop it off<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u2013<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>to school<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
